Singer/songwriter Ay Wing keeps pushing her musical boundaries with every new release with her latest being "Poison Ivy." The record sees the Swiss-born, Berlin-based singer exploring the core of her identity as she drowns in the pool of temptation and desire. Over an atmospheric retro-pop soundscape brimming with psychedelic textures and an undeniable punchy groove, Ay Wing dives into the euphoria and loss of self as she wallows in the haze of that special someone. Inspired by the Bat Man villain of the same name, she embodies the hypnotic power attributed to her and lines like "Spreading venom through my veins/Wrap your leaves around my waist/I'm surrounded by your haze/Wanna let you have your way" underscore the changes she is undergoing.
The song comes with a visualizer that captures Ay Wing as the titular character in her element. It shows her expressive dance moves as she basks in the transformative powers in the wild woods.
"Poison Ivy" is the title track of the EP Poison Ivy. The EP blends alt-RnB, indie, and soul to explore identity, grief, and transformation. The EP includes the previously released single "Spacewalker" and raw ballads such as "Healing" and "Limerence State."
