His latest offering “Energy For Me,” reincarnates the energy of classic rappers in their prime, blending soulful soundscapes with alluring hip-hop-tinged percussion.
Speaking of the track, he says, “Energy for me was written on the back end of an ugly break-up. A lot of words were said and it really drained me of myself – I was so focused on what I gave to the other person and how they perceived me. In our last conversation, she really just unloaded everything on me and there was this clarity that came over my lens of the situation and my life as a whole. That’s when I decided not to respond or give a damn about her or anybody else going forward. It hit me like an epiphany: Keeping all this energy for me. I only want to spend my time and energy on the people and experiences that appreciate and recharge me.”
