Indie-folk artist Joshu has released his third EP, way back home, following a soul-searching journey across the Atlantic.
Inspired by a personal breakup, he set sail from southern England, retracing his path to the Caribbean, a journey that shaped the EP’s deeply introspective themes of belonging and identity.
"While sailing the mid-Atlantic, surrounded by vastness, I questioned what it truly means to belong," Joshu reflects. "I realized that home isn’t just a physical place—it’s about the relationships we build: with each other, with the land, and with the non-human beings around us."
Written and self-produced in Antigua, the five-track EP blends Joshu’s delicate vocals with lush instrumentation. The title track, "way back home," came to life mid-ocean, evolving over several days into a poignant reflection on grief, hope, and surrender. Beyond personal narrative, the project resonates with a universal longing for connection.
