Enigmatic dance and hip-hop act MAYFLOW reflects on the lows of human emotion on vulnerable yet hopeful anthem “MOON,” marking a new sonic era for the group.
Built on dynamic percussions and electronic tinges, the track offers a seamless blend of techno and electronica with a dose of pop to make for a groovy track rooted in a powerful message.
A thoughtful production that captures the power that depression holds over someone’s life, the track feels intimate and resonant all at once. Speaking of the track, the act explains, “Penning the track was somewhat of an autobiographical experience of the last ten years of my life. I don’t want to tell anyone how to live their life, but depression can affect people in so many ways: it might get better, it might get worse. You might get into the lowest place of your life, but you must remember that life is for living.”
Born amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, the band is made up of producer Mayford Fox and the mysterious masked vocalist LowKey, who come together to carve out a space for themselves with their distinct soundscapes and introspective messages of self-acceptance.
