The latest release from Logan Garrett, “Move,” featuring the magnetic Anella, demonstrates that the identity of Nashville is more fluid than ever. Renowned for playing a key role in the city’s developing club scene, Garrett blends country, electronica, and hip-hop in an unprecedented manner and feels entirely natural.

The record is a boundless blend of disco-tinged beats drenched with modern dribble & stutter house, tied together with Anella’s smooth but authoritative vocals. Combined, they make for a song fit for dance floors and casual listening that exudes soft, welcoming energy. The contrast of Anella’s genre-blurring artistry combines the storytelling backbone of country with the melodic accessibility of pop, and the cool edge of hip-hop positions “Move” as a statement on the future of a Nashville sound.

Garrett’s DJing experience in Music City has given him an instinctive feel for crowd energy, which he funneled masterfully into this single. “Move,” its more club-focused single, was designed for dance floors, but its genre-crossing wideness ensures it’s beyond a single remaining a floor hit. “As a DJ in Nashville, I’m always challenged to dig for records that bring a country vibe without losing the energy of a dance/electronic set,” Garrett tells Rolling Stone. “I made ‘Move’ to live in that space where genres collide.”

An up-and-comer named Anella from Trinity, NC, is bringing that beautiful fusion of styles to the track. With a deal from Def Jam, viral singles, and collaborations such as her appearance on Diplo’s country endeavor, she’s establishing the role of a trailblazer. Her involvement is enough to make “Move” an anthem of innovation.

“Move” is a preview of a future in which Nashville isn’t shackled by tradition but enlivened by possibilities. It’s a song that begs to be played loudly and repeatedly.
