Cory Cullinan is a man of many talents. The chart-topping singer-songwriter is also a composer, professor, speaker and studio owner. His latest offering is the transformative new musical piece "Footprint". The song is shared alongside a unique nature filled music video.
"Footprint" is an avant-garde and experimental immersive journey. The track begins with nature sounds, wind and water creating a meditative experience. Leaves blowing, birds chirping and buzzing and even babies crying add to the song's live in the moment experience. "Footprint" also includes various synthesizers and other various instrumentation adding a digital touch to the music. The story of "Footprint" is very serendipitous as the song was originally created but not finished when Cory was an undergrad at Stanford in the late 80s taking a class by famed composer and electronic legend John Chowning. Not finding the time as well as digital audio workstations that didn't exist then, the composer never finished his vision. Today, Cory reconnected with his mentor and teacher John Chowning who inspired him to finish the piece. The artist also collaborated with Sidney Cullinan, an acclaimed director and creator who is known for her fascinating videos and social media content. The video starts with close ups on nature scenes soon going into the human world with shots of city landscapes and daily life. Then it ends with again nature scenes, taking the listener back to the soothing world of the environmental world. This pairing of music and visuals is unparalleled, unique and all encompassing.
Cory Cullinan has once again captured the imagination and creativity many of us feel but are unable to express. "Footprint" is a prime example of just that. Check out the new video now and get lost.
