Philly-based indie-rock artist Joy Burklund & her band have just released their latest single, "Steady Heart," giving us a taste of what's to come on their debut album, Songbouquet, set to release in March this year. "Steady Heart" is a tender love song penned for Burklund's long-term partner. It's a nostalgic and heartfelt reflection on a love that has endured through significant personal changes and transitions. The track showcases Burklund's distinctive songwriting style, blending introspective lyrics with a captivating rock arrangement, with no small amount of fun, charm and charisma throughout.. She explains that she “wrote “Steady Heart” for my long-term partner, who I fell in love with in high school. That was nearly 20 years ago, over 10 years before either of us transitioned. It’s a love song for someone who has been through it with you, who’s been an anchor through turbulent change. Who you’ve bonded with through the hardest and happiest and weirdest times. It’s the sharing of a silly, dusty memory with that person, a sigh of gratitude, a celebration.
