Back in Philadelphia, indie band Great Time was the local band with major ambitions. With their fearless leader Jill Ryan, the band grew in their local fame and creativity. Their songs echoed on the streets and in many venues around the city. Now, the multi-hyphened Jill Ryan has moved from the gritty city of Philadelphia to the sunny west coast of California. With the change in scenery, Ryan embarks on a solo musical career filled with promise, self-love, and a newfound sense of purpose in music.

Ryan released their first single, "Whatever It Takes," back in October of 2024. The single gave listeners a preview into what Ryan has in store for fans familiar with their sound. The track leaped upon a powerful and striking message, encouraging an anthem of self-loving and speaking your truth. "Whatever It Takes" was a feel-good soulful laidback pop that two-stepped with Ryan's soft-spoken voice. Just a few months removed, Ryan continues the journey with the latest single, "Can I?"

Much like the previous single, Ryan speaks on feelings of change and the everlasting quest for love. Ryan wastes no time pulling on the heartstrings as they figure out their emotional turmoil. The lyrics are enough to make the most of the guitar-backed production.

If the first two singles are any indication, Jill Ryan is set to enter a phase of their musical career unlike any before. With Great Time, many fans became accustomed to a certain musical ability and effort that comes with the graceful Ryan's talent. The path ahead is paved with colorful hues with Jill Ryan leading the way forward.

"Can I?" is out now.
