Pioneering Jewish rappers Matisyahu and Remedy celebrate their Jewish roots and the first day of Chanukah by releasing their lead single "The Father's Live." The anthemic record sees both rappers speaking out against the current wave of anti-semitism sweeping the globe. They use their platform to educate and enlighten audiences on the importance of their heritage, unity, community and the continual self-determination of the Jewish people. The production lends its strength to the versatile arrangement that blends the slow groove of classic reggae with a touch of modern hip-hop and contemporary elements underpinned by insightful songwriting. Matisyahu's distinct melodic chorus also hems the track and gives it a hypnotic feel that reinforces the song's theme.
The visual brings together several Jewish figures in New York under one roof, the Shul to be precise and captures Matisyahu and Remedy in their element as they pay homage to their forebearers. The video features cameos from the likes of Michael Rapaport, Uri Cohn, Betar and Abraham Hamra.
