Amsterdam-based musician STRIPE is a genre-bending artist whose love for pop, R&B, and hip-hop shows in his new single "LAST NIGHT WAS LOVELY." The track is built on a bright guitar riff underpinned by bouncy hip-hop drums, smooth basslines, and pop aesthetics. While the plucky and spirited beat could have audiences dancing, STRIPE opts for a profound topic to draw listeners in. He runs through his experiences with love in the general sense. Stemming from his parent's divorce and the indelible impact it had on him, STRIPE admits that he struggled to find the true meaning of love, and thanks to therapy, self-assessment, healing, and meeting a special someone he was able to find some semblance of it. STRIPE delivers the story in an easy-to-follow approach with heartfelt lines like "Come from the heart/Take your space, have it all/I’m alright when we apart/Take time, I’m so fine We both shine/Boundaries set and we’ll never cross those lines" which underscore his life-changing experience.
STRIPE was born in Buenos Aires but raised worldwide, moving to Panama, The Czech Republic, Russia, and Mexico. Now based in Amsterdam, his multicultural upbringing infuses a rich tapestry of influences into his sound. "LAST NIGHT WAS LOVELY" is the fourth single off my upcoming album SUN/moon.
