Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, she says, “Technically, this song is about a friend and her evil ex-boyfriend. When I tried to introduce her to one of my favourite albums, I learned that he had beaten me to it and made the experience so unpleasant she refused to listen to any of their other works. As time went on, it became clear to me that he wasn’t right for her. When she finally broke up with him, I couldn’t say “I told you so” to her, so I wrote this song.
