Toronto/Los Angeles-based indie pop artist Julian Daniel is making waves with his infectious new single, “do you feel me?,” a track he hopes will stir listeners' emotions through its seductive rhythm and evocative lyrics. Hailing from Maple, Ontario, Julian’s journey in the music industry has seen him transition from a budding artist to a cross-border talent, now fully committed to his craft and splitting his time between Canada’s vibrant music scene and the industry hotspots of Los Angeles. His sound—a compelling fusion of indie pop and rock—is grounded in heartfelt lyricism and buoyant instrumentals, reflecting influences from artists like Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, and Gus Dapperton.

Since his debut in 2019, Julian Daniel has demonstrated a keen ability to capture the complexities of young adult life through music. With over 20 songs in his growing discography, including the viral hit “Lemontree,” he has steadily built a reputation as an emerging artist to watch. “Lemontree” alone has drawn attention from major industry players, including The Chainsmokers, giving Julian a platform to showcase his distinct sound. His music is characterized by cinematic storytelling, using vibrant sonic landscapes to depict themes of love, heartbreak, and the raw realities of growing up.
His latest single, “do you feel me?,” is emblematic of his artistic vision. The track exudes a sultry, pulsing energy, designed to evoke the electric sensation of a close connection. Julian explains that each note and beat is meant to feel like an intimate touch, embodying the passion and longing that often accompany past loves and emotional memories. Inspired by the stories of friends and family, Julian sought to create a song that would resonate universally, evoking the familiar, bittersweet sensations associated with past relationships. His goal was to write a timeless piece that would evoke vivid memories, and “do you feel me?” does precisely that, inviting listeners to relive those intense moments from their own lives.
The song was initially conceived as a solo effort, but during the writing process, Julian realized that capturing both perspectives of a relationship would enhance the emotional depth of the track. He reached out to Sofia Mills, a fellow artist, to contribute to the second verse. Her response was immediate and powerful; she completed her verse in just 15 minutes, recording it in Glendale, California. Julian recalls the collaborative process with excitement, noting how Sofia’s verse brought the song to life in a way that felt both organic and intensely personal. Her contribution complemented the emotional weight of the track, giving it the balance and authenticity Julian had envisioned.
Beyond the recording studio, Julian Daniel’s artistic presence shines on stage, where he transforms his introspective, nostalgic sound into a high-energy performance. His live shows highlight his flamboyant personality, captivating audiences with a charismatic presence that is both intimate and theatrical. Performing at venues like The Great Hall in Toronto and The Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, Julian has proven his ability to connect with listeners on a deep level, building a devoted fan base that appreciates his bold authenticity and storytelling prowess.
With each release, Julian pushes the boundaries of what it means to be a modern indie pop artist. His work is both a reflection of his personal experiences and an invitation for listeners to explore their own stories. Rooted in the universal themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, Julian Daniel’s music captures the essence of the human experience, delivered with a vibrancy that is uniquely his own. As he continues to expand his artistic horizons, Julian remains committed to crafting music that is at once nostalgic and forward-looking, promising to leave an indelible mark on the indie pop landscape.
