Raven Ives is the musical name of Violet, and she brings back the strong charm of her 2022 EP, ‘Dancing Shadows.’ This collection of songs mixes darkness with beauty in a unique way. Although it didn't get much attention when it first came out, more and more people are discovering it, especially loving the songs "Reprieve" and "Rainy Days." These tracks resonate deeply with listeners, wrapping them in a comforting, moody feeling characteristic of Violet’s musical style.

‘Dancing Shadows’ is an emotional journey through different types of music. Violet skillfully combines dark-pop, alt-pop, goth-pop, and trip-hop with small touches of hip-hop and the heavy emotions in metal and doom music. This mix creates a unique sound that Violet calls ‘darkgaze’—a special blend where sad feelings meet soothing electronic sounds and movie-like music. The dreamy, synth-heavy layers lead you through the shadows, capturing your attention for 20 minutes.

Among the six tracks, "Be Still" and "Firelights" shine brightly, showing the EP's deep emotions. "Be Still" has a calming feeling, while "Firelights" brings a quiet energy that shows Violet’s skill in balancing thoughtful and decisive moments. Each song in ‘Dancing Shadows’ showcases Violet's talent for making music that stirs emotions—a perfect soundtrack for those who find peace in the nighttime.

With ‘Dancing Shadows,’ Raven Ives makes a strong impression in the alt-pop and darkwave music scenes. It’s a must-listen for anyone who loves music that embraces light and darkness. Let Raven Ives’ sound take you into Violet’s world.
