British singer/ songwriter Nathan Ball has just released his new four-track EP, Lost Track of Time. Based in Cornwall, UK, a lot of the new EP was actually written whilst on the road in Australia and therefore embodies the feeling of wanderlust and adventure. Thematically, the EP touches on everything from importance and value of self-love, to reflecting on the highs and lows of a past relationship and the profound mark it left.
A highlight from the EP, is the most recent single to be released, “Rise Up Again.” The empowering song speaks of hopefulness and resilience, with the songwriter sharing, “it’s a song about being on the outside of someone’s struggle, wanting to help someone you love to bring them out of the darkness and let them know you are there for them.”
“Rise Up Again” is a simple, yet evocative song, where Ball’s crystal vocals soar over plucky guitars and glistening synths. The warmth and emotion in his voice is palpable, sending shivers down your spine with each and every lyric.
The entirety of Lost Track of Time is a beautiful and wholesome listening experience, perfectly encapsulating the songwriter’s love for nature. He shares, “it’s where I write best; by the sea, in the mountains, in the woods. I love being totally immersed in nature so naturally those themes find their way into the music. I love being in the ocean – just being in it and feeling totally insignificant. It’s a reminder of the order of things.”
