Chasing Kites Share Intimate New Single "Falling"

Bristol-based indie-rockers Chasing Kites return with their reflective new single, "Falling," marking a shift from their previous energetic sound and embracing a more vulnerable and heartfelt tone.

Produced by Sam Winfield at Studio 91, known for working with Bring Me The Horizon and Amber Run, "Falling" opens with lush, reverb-soaked guitar and warming bass. Lead vocalist Matt Donnelly delivers his tender lines against a melancholic backdrop, gradually building into a catchy chorus supported by gentle drums. The song culminates in a climactic final chorus that resonates deeply.

Thematically, "Falling" explores the journey of finding true love. Donnelly explains, “It was written in a moment of infatuation, reflecting the importance of cherishing those we love.” He emphasises that, while it may not showcase the lyrical complexity of their other songs, its raw emotion makes it special.

Since forming in 2021, Chasing Kites has quickly gained recognition in the UK music scene, drawing comparisons to The 1975 and Catfish and the Bottlemen. With dynamic hooks and evocative narratives, they’re poised for an exciting future.

Upcoming Live Dates:

  • September 20: The Silver Lines, The Louisiana, Bristol
  • November 5: Spinn, Thekla, Bristol
  • November 23: Luna Blue, Crofters Rights, Bristol
