TIHANE’s new single, “Ain’t That A B!tch,” is a cathartic exploration of love’s paradoxes, blending soulful melodies with a modern bounce that’s both nostalgic and refreshing. The Polynesian-Croatian-American artist draws from her multicultural heritage to create a sound that feels rooted yet innovative, bridging traditional soul and electronic music effortlessly. The track, co-produced with Segnon, is the first release from TIHANE’s forthcoming debut album, The War On Love, slated for release in early 2025. As the lead single, it sets the tone for what’s to come, weaving themes of heartbreak and empowerment through a mix of rich sonic textures.

The single’s origin story is as raw as the emotions it channels. Written during the first days following a breakup, TIHANE’s lyrics reveal an emotional duality – the pain of watching love slip away and the recognition that love’s turbulence is a part of its complexity. With lyrics like “I don’t even blame you for making me cry,” she steps away from traditional breakup bitterness and instead approaches the end of love with a mature and reflective outlook.

The hook, “Ain’t that a bitch about love,” encapsulates the song’s tone – raw, resigned, and somehow empowering. It’s an honest, relatable acknowledgment that love, for all its beauty, also comes with its share of heartache and frustration. But rather than wallowing in sadness, the refrain feels almost celebratory, reclaiming the experience of love with a sense of resilience and acceptance.

The single’s visuals, directed by TIHANE and Cris Blyth, amplify the song’s themes. Set in the canyons of California, the one-take video transitions from black-and-white vintage tones to vibrant colors, symbolizing the song’s shift from a classic soul ballad to a modern groove. This visual journey captures the emotional spectrum of a relationship’s dissolution and rebirth, highlighting TIHANE’s dynamic artistry and her ability to transform personal pain into an empowering anthem. With “Ain’t That A B!tch” and her fresh, boundary-pushing sound, TIHANE solidifies her place as a rising artist to watch.
