SABA SHOWED US THAT WE ALL SHOULD REFLECT ON WHERE WE STAND WITH OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

Chicago Native Rhymer Saba blesses us with a truly transparent record as he shows his inner thoughts with “How to impress God.” The record thoughts with a deep narrative that the things that he does as an established artist don't matter. Something hard to think about and say because accolades can jade an artist but he’s reflecting and being honest with what would never matter to an almighty God. The record is truly transparent and reflective, a creative concept that can show many people that this type of emotional transition is a normal stage in life. Lyrically, the track is well-rounded and executed well, he doesn't slack lyrically and paints a beautifully vivid picture of an inner conversation wondering where he stands.

“You streamed over 200 million, I'M NOT IMPRESSED” is a feat so many haven't done but it's a bold statement, with lyrics like that I think people will truly gravitate to the record because of how real it is. It's a deep record, but deep triggers us to think and that's what hip hop is for in a lot of ways. The second verse takes a different approach with more statements of who God is in his life, and how God has guided him. Sounds a lot like a declaration of Faith. He states different attributes of God such as him being the light and so forth.

Sonically the record is pleasing and the production is top tier that fits Saba’s style of rhyming perfecting. The production was done by legendary producer No ID. The record is put together well, flows well, is intricate, but still subtle enough to be grabbed by the concepts of the lyrics. The drums are present and what sounds like a bell is crisp flowing well with the sharpness of the snares. The synths are a good additive in the chorus adding a dramatic feel. The sounds a clear and blend well with the vocals accenting the record sonically.

The mix and master bring the record to life, the visuals for the video are beautifully shot and really represent one's own inner conflict with what doesn't matter to God. Great visuals and great work!
