Indie-folk singer-songwriter Steve Dennis expertly crafts relatable narratives into heartfelt anthems, as seen in his latest single, "Annie." Drawing from the reflective warmth of Gregory Alan Isakov and the easygoing charm of Jack Johnson, Dennis presents an intimate, relatable tale of love, vulnerability, and second chances.

Produced by Jamie Mefford, "Annie" intertwines a delicate folk melody with Steve's raw, unfiltered storytelling. The song's compelling backstory adds depth to its appeal. Initially close to discarding the track due to doubts about its impact, Dennis was pleasantly surprised when it became a fan favorite after a few live performances. "I almost threw this song out," Dennis admits. "But after playing it out a couple of times, it shortly became my most requested song. Happy I stuck with it."

Based on a real-life encounter at a market, "Annie" captures the fleeting connection between strangers, exploring the universal fear of missed opportunities and the hope for something more. With every strum, Dennis skillfully balances the heartbreak of inaction with the sweet possibility of 'what if.'

"Annie" surpasses the typical love song, reminding us that some of the most compelling stories stem from moments we nearly let slip away. The single encourages listeners to embrace their chances of love through its gentle acoustic tones and vivid storytelling.
