Vessna Scheff’s “ONE MORE TIME” is about freedom of expression

San Francisco Bay Area-raised, Philadelphia-based singer, and songwriter Vessna Scheff releases ONE MORE TIME," the final single from her forthcoming LP, Never Mind The Moon. The track was inspired by a roller skating session and the thrill of free movement and built on aspirational and self-love themes. Over a bouncy and bright backdrop provided by her longtime producer Lee Clarke, Scheff embodies these themes with heartfelt and uplifting lyrics matched by rich sultry melodies and a catchy hook.

“When skating, you never want the night to end. Each time you go round the rink, you learn something about yourself, about others, and about the importance of joy,” Scheff says. “Going around just “one more time” lets you sink into that joy for a little longer, so you can carry it with you.”

Her upcoming LP ‘Never Mind the Moon’ will be released on Friday 18th October. The LP title lends its name from the Questlove-directed 2021 documentary Summer Of Soul. Recalling the events of the incredible Harlem Culture Festival in 1969, a clip from the time shows a newscaster asking festival attendees about the moon landing. “Never Mind the Moon, what we need is investment in Harlem,” one attendee replies. This phrasing struck Vessna Scheff, as she considered the hopes, dreams, and aspirations that are so often wrapped up in the idea of the moon.

Vessna Scheff is also a visual artist with a Masters degree in performing arts from Rhode Island School of Design.
