Finnish alt-pop artist Conchis returns with her new single, "Trouble," a powerful follow-up to "Cray Cray," from her forthcoming album, Chapters. Known for blending cinematic electronic and experimental pop, Conchis dives into the darker side of relationships, reflecting on past romantic connections that brought more harm than good. “It’s about the push and pull in a relationship and acting against our better judgment,” she says. The repeated line “don’t play with fire” underscores the theme of dangerous temptation.
Working with producer Jonas Verwijnen, Conchis uses subtle sonic elements to evoke fire’s intensity, integrating natural sounds like crackling embers to bring the song to life. Her voice moves between guarded verses and a soaring chorus, enhancing the emotional tension.
Conchis' deep connection to nature is evident throughout her music. Raised in the Finnish archipelago, she nurtured her creativity from an early age, drawing on the natural world for inspiration. Her debut album, Chapters, set for release on October 25, 2024, explores themes of loss, yearning, and human vulnerability.
