Written during a moment of deep reflection in June 2023, the song emerged as SORAYA grieved the loss of her father in Iran and processed the end of a significant relationship. In a cathartic burst of creativity, she composed the piece at her piano, infusing it with the essence of her experiences. The chorus, drawn from a poem she penned during the Great March of Return in 2018, weaves a poignant connection to Palestine, further deepened by the Galilee Quartet’s contribution.
The quartet, consisting of four Palestinian siblings—Mostafa, Ghandi, Omar, and Tibah Saad—brings a unique blend of Western classical and Arabic traditional music to the track. Their story of resilience resonates, particularly with Omar’s courageous stand against military service.
