Being yourself, your true authentic self is something many of us will encounter in our lives. Those who don't or aren't able to may be living in fear of judgment, and others could be anxious about harsher reprisals. Still, Paige Kennedy releases a new track "Life In Fear" ahead of their "Babylotion" EP (Out 11th October) that faces these notions head-on. They're rightly, happily unapologetic about who they are.
Dividing their time between Manchester and London, England the non-binary quirk-pop artist Kennedy has enjoyed strong breakthrough success with the irresistible earworm "Lingerie Model" and its follow-up "What Does Your Girlfriend Think," which have taken off with huge exposure over the summer, particularly on TikTok, and Instagram. On "Life in Fear" they're mining a new vein of classic technicolor pop with synth stylings, think The Human League and Annie Lennox coupled with Kennedy's typical playful wordplay and ironic tone. The themes are heartfelt, don't listen to critics, be who you want to be, and face your fears to find the accepting community you deserve, where you'll thrive.
