Spanglish boom-bap trio Grupo HNE pays homage to Puerto Rico in their latest record "La Doce." The record employs a retro Spanish sample which comes with rich sparkling piano keys, plucky textures, and a commanding vocal sample to match. This is revamped by the duo DJ Heron and multi-instrumentalist Nando who add that good old boom-bap and modern hiphop twist to complete the mix. Here, rapper DJ Exes shows love for his roots and his home country with a blend of Spanglish and several references to his culture. The title "La Doce" means twelve and was titled as such because it was the last song on the group's newly released debut LP Calle HNE.
The visual accompaniment follows the trio enjoying a hefty delicious meal and strolling through the nightlife on their home turf of Miami, Florida.
Grupo HNE is a trio, who are all members of the Lo-Life Miami Family and have done extensive work with Lo-Life General, Thirstin Howl The 3rd have been dropping musical bombs at a rapid pace this year.
