Songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Khemet McConville shares wisdom-laden anthem “Your Mother Said,” led by soul-capturing grooves and thoughtful sentiments.
A nursery rhyme-esque sing-along gospel-infused production built on ethereal instrumentals, punchy yet smooth basslines and Motown-inspired drums, the track evokes joy and companionship while still tilting into reflective, sobering tones.
With raw vocals upon lush saxophone melodies, the jazz-tinged anthem is catchy and thoughtful all at once. Speaking of the track, he says, “ wanted to create a children’s song that would appeal to adults sonically and be simple enough for kids to sing along to lyrically. Keeping a simple repetitive hook, I deliver a detailed timeline of the character’s life and a number of life lessons to go along with it.”
Described as soulful, unique, idiosyncratic and eclectic, McConville whose ear for music began as early as kindergarten is a versatile and promising talent to keep on your radar.
