Hailing from the ancient Benin City in Edo, Nigerian afrobeat singer Alpha P has an interesting story that revolves around disappointments, fair-weather friends, and the never-ending battle with his demons. His latest EP Welcome to the Pack is a 5 track project that sees the singer break his two-year hiatus away from the music industry. The project also sees him recruiting producer Wondah who helps produce the bulk of the project with captivating backdrops underpinned by Alpha P's newfound vulnerability and heartfelt lyrics. The project opens with the solemn "Light," which dives into finding peace and joy after the life-changing loss of a friend, followed by the love track "OMW" featuring fellow singer Kemuel and the two deliver interwoven melodic constructs that thrill the ears. On "W", Alpha P marks a career milestone by collaborating with legendary Nigerian rapper/songwriter/record label boss Olamide and producer ThisIzLondon. The record is an ode to love and the action behind making that special someone the W (if you know what I mean). The project closes with the upbeat "Hold Ya" and the sublime "4 AM," two tracks that showcase Alpha P's rich songwriting style. The former saw him crooning to his girl while the latter explored a situation where he was being pursued by a lady who caught his eye.

Overall Welcome to the Pack is filled with soulful melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and innovative soundscapes allowing Alpha P to create a listening experience that feels both personal and universal.

FYI: Alpha P started his music career as a duo with Nigerian Afropop star Rema in their hometown in Edo state, Nigeria.
