Duncan Daniels has dropped off a new album, titled Dan Cain: Honesty & Nostalgia. Daniels is a multifaceted artist born in the US with a Nigerian upbringing, blending the best of both worlds in his music. At a very young age, music became Daniels' escape from depression. His childhood had its challenges, and he often felt out of place until he began writing music at age 11, inspired by early 90s rock artists like Bon Jovi, The Cranberies, Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz, and connecting with other young musicians. With a career now spanning over two decades, Duncan's sonic tapestry traverses the vibrant landscapes of Afro-pop and alt-rock, blending infectious rhythms with introspective lyricism. His latest offering is the full-length album Dan Cain: Honesty & Nostalgia, preceded by evocative singles like "Evergreen" and "Peacock Feather", blends heartfelt introspection with rich, evocative soundscapes. This body of work marks a significant departure from his renowned Afrobeats style, venturing further into the realms of alternative rock, interlaced with orchestrated compositions.

Dan Cain: Honesty & Nostalgia represents a deeply personal offering for Daniels, exploring themes of authenticity and nostalgia across its sweeping soundscapes which often blend alternative rock with orchestral flourishes. Collaborating with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Daniels captures a rich sound on "Holy Water", with its expansive, emotive songwriting. The guitar solo on ‘Take My Hand", recorded during a bomb raid in Odesa by Vitaliy Tkachuk, exemplifies resilience and dedication- making for a poignant, resonant listen. "Peacock Feather", with its atmospheric layers of guitars and powerful vocals from Daniels and collaborator Ajagunlabi, also features Brazilian guitarist Johnatha Bastos, born without hands, who delivers an incredible performance on the song playing with his toes.

Duncan Daniels' latest album is an emotive journey across versatile soundscapes that blend elements of alternative rock, modern classical, and afro-pop for a dynamic listen that resonates with its heartfelt feel.
