Electronic, pop, and experimental artist Conchis has released her latest single, "Cray Cray." This introspective track delves into the complexities of life’s choices, touching on themes like creative boundaries, the decision to have children, and navigating life with a chronic illness.
Conchis describes the song’s creation as spontaneous, with lyrics and melody coming to her unexpectedly. “At first, I thought they were ridiculous and not my usual style, but they were so persistent that I just had to record them. It’s a surprise for me what the song is actually about until the track is finished.”
"Cray Cray" is a preview of Conchis’ debut album Chapters, set to release on October 25, 2024, via Kieku Records. The album explores deep human emotions, shaped by her experience with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Embracing her limitations, Conchis allowed only five vocal takes per song, infusing the album with raw emotion.
Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in the Finnish archipelago and John Fowles’ novel The Magus, Conchis’ music balances light and dark, beauty and roughness, offering a captivating listening experience.
