JUNECINEMA exhibit 'PERSEVERANCE' on new album

JUNECINEMA have released a new album, titled PERSEVERANCE. The prolific duo consisting of North Carolina's JUNE! and New York's Jay Cinema continue to demonstrate a kinetic chemistry with their releases, and their latest full-length offering PERSEVERANCE is no exception. With JUNE!'s gravelly, baritone delivery and Jay Cinema's deft, limber flows feeding off each-other in an electric fashion atop a diverse set of beats that are often gritty and yet immersive and warm, PERSEVERANCE creates an idiosyncratic mood that lives up to its title with tales of following one's path despite the darker lows, to find the beauty that remains. With production handled by Chow, Kirti Pandey, Matt Swain, and more, PERSEVERANCE is a record that retains its down-to-earth core and yet it achieves something expansive in the process.

"HOLD IT" introduces a vital energy with Chow's psychedelic, buoyant loops laying down a soulful tapestry for JUNE! and Jay Cinema, as they conjure a subtly triumphant mood with vivid verses. "DON'T FORGET II (TALES)" is a melancholic beauty, with layers of bittersweet, weaving strings from pis.i rising beneath the emcees as they harness the meaning of the album's name with stories of overcoming obstacles and remaining authentic to oneself and one's path. That orchestral sound continues with "PRIME", produced by Clayhead and featuring potent appearances from Myles Clayton and Roman., as the song takes on a mood of things coming together despite chaos- laced within focused, imagery-rich verses. "FAITH", featuring Michael Christmas and produced by Kirti Pandey, feels like a peak in the record's narrative arc, with Pandey's textural, emotive instrumentation melding smoothly with the three emcees, as they contrast each-other with their respective styles, while coming together for a cohesive whole.

JUNECINEMA's PERSEVERANCE is a powerful expression of resilience and gratitude, with a tangible, engaging chemistry between JUNE! and Jay Cinema atop a series of instrumentals that are emotive and diverse. Released on I'll Never Die, the record is a soulful journey hallmarked by surreal, earthy samples and vivid personal narratives.
