Manchester indie-alt-pop trio Isla Rico returns with their vibrant new single, “Wavelength,” released on August 2nd. Produced by Andy Gannon (Clean Bandit, Rudimental), the track showcases the band’s growing ability to blend mature musicality with infectious melodies.
Formed in a homemade tiki bar in Manchester, Rico has quickly become a standout in the indie music scene, known for their storytelling lyrics, catchy hooks, and energetic performances. “Wavelength” perfectly captures this energy, delivering bright guitar riffs, danceable drums, and a warm mix of synth and piano, all led by charismatic, upbeat vocals.
The band described the creation of “Wavelength” as a spontaneous process that evolved into a perfect reflection of their carefree philosophy. “As the song came to life, we realised it encapsulated our ‘good times’ message while striking all the indie-pop tones that make it fresh and timeless,” they share.
Following the success of their EP Eternal Optimist, which amassed over 100,000 streams, Isla Rico is planning a headline tour in March/April 2025. With “Wavelength,” the trio continues to solidify their status as a band to watch. The single is out now via Regent Street Records.
