Exploring the theme of love and finding solace in reconnection, REYNA returns with a song that demonstrates the importance of understanding where you come from.
Following their latest EP, 2023’s Limonada, REYNA is back with a new tune, one that showcases the group's heritage with the same laid-back rock fans have come to admire.
“Mexico” finds the duo returning to one of Vic Banuelos's favorite places, the town of Monterrey Mexico. It’s here where the concept of reconnection comes into place. Despite the group being from Milwaukee, Monterrey holds a special palace in Banuelos’ heart, being the space where she studied and lived a good portion of her adult life.
The lyrics and accompanying video demonstrate how essential it is to reconnect with something and somewhere familiar in the aftermath of tragedy, in Banuelos’ case, a terrible breakup.
“Mexico” is an easy listen with an infectious chord progression. A perspective of the singer's early adulthood with an instrumental that transfers the energy through sound.
