In early June Irish singer-songwriter Carrie Baxter popped on our radar with a neo-soul/R&B anthem which saw her paying tribute to all the hardworking women across the globe. On her newest release "Roses", she teams up with longtime collaborator/producer EDBL for a R&B/disco-infused piece that explores a bittersweet experience after the fact. Over the dreamy and ethereal pads and guitar licks, Carrie sings "Caught up in the moment/Trippin over sweet talk , late night fears/I never needed roses/Seems like what I wanted was more than you could give" as she reflects on the past. As the saying goes, hindsight is 20/20 and Carrie can see clearly now as she unpacks all the good and bad memories from a renewed perspective.
