Susannah B's "It's Alright to Cry" is an anthem for emotional acceptance

Manhattan bred singer-songwriter and acclaimed artist Susannah B has just shared an irresistible new single. Called "It's Alright to Cry", the song is truly special to the artist as it was written by her mother Carol Hall, who is known for her work on Broadway as a composer and lyricist. "It's Alright to Cry" is a highlight of Susannah B's forthcoming full length POV, set to be released September 8th. On the album she confides, "As we age, we have different ways of looking at things, and a song can mean something very different at various points in the journey. The concept of POV also refers to the way different people can experience the same thing, but their individual points of view cause them to have different reactions to the shared experience. I think many of humanity’s problems would improve if we simply considered other people’s POVs and didn’t expect everyone to see things the same way we do.”

With “It’s Alright to Cry", Susannah B performs a song all about embracing your emotions, even if they are not always pleasant. The single reminds listeners that feelings are ever changing and varied, and that it is important to experience them. The song is a sensitive and empowering approach to emotional expression and one that needs to be heard. Lyrics including, "It's alright to cry / it might make you feel better / It's alright to feel things," show this human narrative. Musically, “It’s Alright to Cry" features Susannah B's delightful vocal tone over downtempo funky keys and layered guitar riffs. The single fuses pop, soul, rock and even blues for a joyful and impactful listen.

Susannah B is known for her seductive vocals and impeccable musicality. A native of New York, the creator moved to Los Angeles and has graced numerous iconic venues and off Broadway stages. Teaming up with phenomenal musicians including Michael Farrell (Alanis Morrisette, Macy Gray), drummer Victor Indrizzo (Avril Lavigne and Brandi Carlile), upright and electric bassist Sean Hurley, guitarist David Levita (Faith Hill & Tim McGraw) and saxophonist Sal Lozano, her new music is some of her best. Take a listen to the new song now and enjoy the ride!
