San Diego-based music producer, composer, DJ and music academic Graffick offers sleek and powerful project Spectra, crafting ethereal, vivid tapestries of sound around a poignant message.
With rich drums, synth-driven melodies and vast electronic climaxes, the project is atmospheric and uptempo from start to finish whether on the lush yet airy “Saw You There Again” the simmering electro-pop styling of “Sushi Rice,” or the booming but moody intrigue of “Black Light.”
Speaking of the message behind the album, Graffick explains, “The concept behind Spectra is that our life experiences exist on a spectrum and that our perception of these events defines how we each see the world.”
The musical moniker of Blaine Counter, Graffick is the product of a journey of audio production that began at an early age. Framed by experimentalism and immersion, Graffick continues to build a layered and illuminant world of electronic music and sound design on each new release.
