As a sharply rising figure in the Miami and Ibiza scenes, Cole Knight embodies a blend of passion and creative drive that fuels her musical journey. Currently en route to Malaga for a performance at Studio Club, Cole reflects on the whirlwind of inspiration that shapes her days.

"Life has been inspiring and fast-paced," Cole shares. "As artists, we flow with life and stimulate ourselves, and then we take a few days to integrate that stimulation by manically working on our projects. That's pretty much been my schedule as of late, I've been channeling all my experiences into lots of new music.”

Her latest endeavor, "Money," released on Higher Ground alongside Joseph Ashworth and KDA, encapsulates this dynamic approach. "‘Money’ is the brainchild of a day at the studio with three music nerds just having fun," she explains. "Khris (KDA) pitched the idea—something about a track inspired by sugar daddies, but with a twist. We wanted a clubby record with attitude and edge.” “Money” embodies that vibe perfectly with its lyrics.

The collaboration with Joseph and KDA stemmed from mutual admiration and a shared passion for innovative sound. "Joseph and Khris are legends—mad talented producers," Cole reflects.

"I used to play their track 'The Wriggle' at festivals, and the crowd would go nuts. I tagged the boys, and the conversations opened. Eventually, I was in London and we met up for a studio session, which was filled with synths, sampling old disco tracks, and laying on the floor contagiously laughing at each other."

When it comes to influences, Cole's musical journey is rich and varied. "Massive Attack, Daft Punk's 'Homework', and Vitalic were huge influences on me," she recalls. "The way those sounds earworm into my brain and put me in a trance is my favorite feeling. It's aggressive but hypnotic at the same time. ." Beyond electronic music, Cole draws inspiration from icons like Missy Elliot and Rihanna for their unmatched confidence and style.

"I've been working so hard the last couple of years in the studio and finally feeling good about putting some of these records out,"

Spending summers in Ibiza has profoundly shaped Cole's sound. "The last 3 years, I've spent my summer seasons in Ibiza," she shares warmly. "To me, the island is home, I feel connected to the land, to the people, to the culture. Almost every day, I wake up and look outside, and it takes my breath away, how a place can be so beautiful. Whether I'm waking up early to meditate for sunrise or coming home from the club at sunrise, the way the light hits, it's my favorite time of day."

Outside of music, Cole finds solace in meditation and creative exploration. During the pandemic, she experimented with creating meditations using her voice. "my roommate at the time had this idea to create audio files that were meditations scored like a movie," she reveals. "We wrote 20-minute meditations from the perspective of the listener, recorded our voices guiding your mind into different scenarios, and then spent days and days scouring the internet for sound effects and samples—we compiled it all into compositions that were like watching a movie but with your eyes closed."

Looking ahead, Cole is eager to share more music in 2024. "I've been working so hard the last couple of years in the studio and finally feeling good about putting some of these records out," she enthuses. Beyond music, her vision for the future is grounded yet aspirational. "In ten years, living on a farm in the mountains of Ibiza with my partner and kids, in a gorgeous house with a massive studio, surrounded by chickens and cats," she chuckles. “Predictable."

As Cole Knight continues to evolve and innovate, her journey through sound and soul remains a testament to the power of artistic expression. With "Money" setting the tone for what’s to come, Cole Knight is poised to make waves that resonate far beyond the dancefloor.
