Edmonton-born, Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Kaleia recently got rid of the "Dead Weight" and now returns with "White Lie."
The single is lifted from her forthcoming EP: HERE FOR NO GOOD, and is a mellow ballad that dives into the complexities of love, keeping one's composure, and the pain resulting from putting up walls.
Bolstered by a downtempo bass-laden groove, electrifying guitar licks, and warm chords, Kaleia delivers an expressive and gripping performance riddled with sultry melodic runs and expressive lines like "Set my standards so high/Didn't think that you could reach them/So I change them/And leaving you dry/Is not what I intended/Didn't think you'd be invested."
The tale is an all too familiar one of the conundrums of modern dating where everyone is trying to safeguard their inner peace to the detriment of the greater good.
