Rising Swedish/Greek singer/songwriter SVEA first emerged in the music scene at 17 with a flurry of releases that gained her notoriety with millions of streams and touring. However, the pandemic changed her trajectory for a moment and she went back to the drawing board while recalibrating herself.

The Stockholm-based artist now returns with a new bag as she drops her newest LP: The Last 90s Bitch, a 10-track body of work that pays homage to her love of the 90s and the fact that she was born 3 days before the turn of the millennium.

The project opens up with "Breakfast Club," a punchy and vibrant pop number with fellow German artist Cloud June. Together they deliver a club-ready jam ladened with pulsating basslines, cinematic brass stabs, and an irresistible modern pop swag.

This is followed by "The One That Got Away" and "Dead Man Walking," two tracks that showcase SVEA's versatility and unapologetic approach to songwriting. On the former, she embodies a free spirit who doesn't want to be tied down while on the latter, she is taking charge and cutting loose from that partner who tried to play her.

"Ferrari" is a guitar-driven playful pop tune that explores toxic relationships, the choices one makes, and the cons that come with it. As she playfully sings "If I'm always sad, ama cry in a Ferrari." The energy rises on "Lame," with its punchy drum grooves and pulsating chords underpinned by SVEA's bright and lilting melodic runs and vivid storytelling about someone who is trying too hard to impress others but ends up looking corny. The project closes out with the summer jam, "The Ick" and the anthemic "Iconic". "The Ick" is a slight nod to the famous term coined on the classic TV show Ally McBeal while "Iconic" brings the project full circle as it stamps SVEA's status as pop's new icon.

Overall, The Last 90s Bitch manages to bridge pop remnants of the 90s with a modern twist. The production is bright, bubbly and energetic and SVEA's unapologetic approach to songwriting and rich melodies all go hand in hand like gloves that fit.
