Izabel (aka izabalien) crowns her slew of singles with the release of her debut EP SCENARIOS via Berlin-based label Stereofox. The project is a 4 track body of work produced entirely by Monro and TromBobby and sees Izabel exploring different imaginary situationships and the complexities that come with them. Starting with the opening, "take 7," an acoustic guitar-driven love ballad that alludes to the fledgling relationship.
This is followed by "trust," where Izabel reflects on a trifling partner and the lack of trust brewing between them. The track has a downtempo groove with future R&B aesthetics underpinned by Izabel's breathy and airy melodic runs.
Next is "no notification," with its cinematic pads, rich guitar licks, and sparse grooves. The vocal layering on this tune is excellent and adds that extra emotional depth to it, while the final track, "keep," dives into one-sided love and the emotional imbalance that arises from it. She acknowledged how her partner is playing games, but she is not ready to keep up with the act and decides to lose the emotional weight.
SCENARIOS is a brilliant body of work laden with well-crafted soundscapes, vocal performances and songwriting that is soul-stirring and distinct.
