Surviving terror, mass surveillance, and a toxic social culture. No matter how fun the function is, Nava Onti is reminding folks someone is always watching.
Bay Area rapper/ producer Nava Onti has released their first single from the upcoming project Future Face of Fascism: Black Iron Prison. This is a direct sequel to their 2021 album Future Face of Fascism: A Political Thriller by Nava Onti and "our past, domestic terror." shows no sign of the rapper and their mission to tackle an oppressive U.S. system.
Incorporating elements of baile funk and glitch hop, "our past, domestic terror." is filled with energy. A vibe that brings a pep to the step and yearns the body to move, but the underlying theme present is that there are no means to comfortably relax and let loose when you live in a country that constantly records you and every step you take.
A theme, visually brought to life with creative camera work by San Jose-based media company /counter.
The video and song bring a sensational combination but also demonstrate the need to move and express joy no matter what evil lurks in the background.
