Vancouver-based band daysormay have been making waves ever since their conception in 2010. Formed of Aidan Andrews and twins Carson and Nolan Bassett, the three continue to turn heads- with their latest single “SIMMER” proving to be some of their strongest work to date. Teaming up with world-renowned, Grammy-winning producer Chin Injeti, together the result is a powerful anthem that emits a brooding demeanor, perfectly capturing the essence behind the song's narrative.
“SIMMER” touches on discipline and struggling with giving into your urges. Singer Andrews confides, “There was a point in 2021 when I had covid, and I was isolated in my room for a while. I was really struggling at the time to moderate my consumption of everything, I was giving into any and every impulse that showed up, and I didn’t care. So to me the song is speaking from that place, that state of mind of knowing you’re too far gone but not caring, and even leaning into it.”
Through fast-paced, throbbing beats, synthesized vocals and electronic embellishments, “SIMMER” delivers both an aggressive yet addictive sound. “SIMMER” is off of their upcoming album, MODERATION, due September 18th 2024.
