Amidst the ups and downs of life, there's a new and powerful music release that's all about resilience and creativity. Baby Grendel, a project by Jonathan Suarez (from Small Town Sci-Fi) and Joe Mengis (from Eels and Portugal. The Man), is finally putting out their self-titled EP after two years of hard work.
The EP tells a moving story of personal growth and change through seven captivating tracks that last for 19 minutes and 36 seconds in total. It was recorded in Portland, with beautiful string performances by Patti King (from The Shins) and Kyle Lockwood (from Climber) adding a magical touch to each song.
Lead guitarist Jonathan Suarez shares his deepest feelings through haunting melodies and honest lyrics, taking listeners on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance. From the introspective "From the mud (main)" to the powerful "Blood Brother," Baby Grendel offers a deeply emotional musical experience.
Inspired by life's challenges, this debut EP demonstrates the incredible power of music. Recorded in Joe's home studio and Jackpot! Recording Studio under the guidance of Portland legend Larry Crane, each track is filled with an infectious energy that's hard to put into a single category.
