Acclaimed Ukrainian band Okean Elzy is pushing their musical boundaries, as they venture into new terrain with their new release "Voices Are Rising"- their first-ever single sung entirely in English. The track is an anthemic piece comprised of shimmering guitar riffs, pounding drums, and haunting strings peppered with a soul-gripping vocal performance. Inspired by the ongoing war in their native country of Ukraine, the band implores audiences around the globe to tap into the energy within and use it for the betterment of mankind. Poignant lines like "Voices are rising, just let it out now/Tears that you hiding, just let it all fall down" bring the track to a crescendo and draw out the needed emotional power to push through hard times.

The song also comes with a live performance-styled visual that captures the band in their element, as they use their talents to bring awareness to the situation in Ukraine. The visual has a cinematic aesthetic that is bolstered by eye-popping colour schemes, shadowy lighting to add dramatic effects and wide shots to elevate the world-building set pieces.

Since debuting over two decades ago, Okean Elzy led by vocalist Sviastoslav ‘Slava’ Vakarchuk, drummer Denys Hlinin, Bass guitarist Denys Dudko, and  Key Boardists/arranger Milos Jelic has risen the ranks to become something of a national treasure for Ukraine. With multiple YUNA Awards (Ukraine's Grammy awards), chart-topping tracks and sold-out live shows, the band continues to grow from strength to strength and now they are embarking on a full-length album sung in English for the first time. The album serves as a rejoinder to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the need for international support to bring to light the atrocities happening.  Lead vocalist Slava has also been showing his support to the Ukrainian troops at the frontlines with numerous acoustic performances to boost their morale and spirit.

The band just completed the UK leg of their Help For Ukraine headline tour and now heading to the second phase with the stadium tour in Ukraine, followed by shows in  Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.
Okean Elzy is an active supporter of IOM and MTV Europe’s human rights campaign, People Are Not For Sale. In 2003 Slava became an Honorary Ambassador of Culture in Ukraine before being named a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Development Programme in 2005. Slava also holds a PhD in physics.
