In his first solo track since “TENNESSEE” 88rising champion Warren Hue returns with another eccentric-coded track.
From signing to the famed 88rising label at age 18 to appearing on the Shang Chi soundtrack just the year after, Warren Hue has jam-packed multiple careers into a few years. In the months since his last single, Hue took time to hone his lyrical prowess in the recent collaborative project from 88rising, hella (˃̣̣̥╭╮˂̣̣̥) ✧ ♡ ‧º·˚ by 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE.
Hue makes the most contributions to the project and is a highlight throughout.
“Split” is the latest from the 22-year-old Jakarta rapper and sees Hue tackle a more mature subject matter with more developed skills. It’s a track that captures the definitive moments in a crumbling relationship, shared with someone hundreds of miles away. It captures the fleeting sense of stability and realization that things just aren’t going to work out.
The ethereal instrumental comes from Warren’s long-time producer and colleague, Chasu, who was responsible for providing the airy atmosphere on his previous single “TENNESSEE”.
Hue's artistry has grown exponentially and it's easy to feel nothing, but excited for whatever project, whether it be solo or collaborative comes next.
