Multi-instrumentalist Mats Dernánd showcases his genre-bending musicality and song writing prowess on debut album Lake Home, an enchanting collection that captures a dreamy vibe.
Spanning a range of emotions from a poignant exploration of vulnerabilities on rich title track to showcasing versatility and collaborative spirit with featuring German indie-folk phenomenon Luna Keller on enticing “We’ll Be Together,” to stand out anthem “Liar,” the nine-track production is delicate yet driven across each note.
With spirited songwriting that evokes heartfelt emotions throughout, the album traverses diverse realms weaving themes of love, reconciliation, and the quest for hope with complete authenticity.
Speaking of the project, Dernand says, “Our summer house, which has been in the family since I was a child, is on Lake Home. It's a place I always return to and where many of my songs on the album came about. It feels logical that that particular place should name my debut album. Of all places, Lake Home is where I feel most at home. Lake Home is an enchanting place in the heart of Sweden. I wanted the music to capture the dreamy beauty of the lake.”
