London born and bred and now Los Angeles based queer indie rocker Django James has just shared his debut single. Entitled "The City" the upbeat song is shared alongside a sexy black and white music video. The single is off of his upcoming album Good Boy which promises to be a genre-bending fusion of sound that is deep in storytelling.
After a difficult time living in Nashville where he found his roommate dead from a fentanyl overdose, Django James found solace in creating his own intoxicating release, celebrating what he holds dear. The result is "The City", a song that is an ode to his drag persona and the amazing queer scene he found in Los Angeles. Lyrics including, "I'm on my way into the city / To meet my man / He is going to be a gentleman / He is going to give me what I need," show that Django James is ready for a new love and connection. Musically, "The City" thrills with kaleidoscopic beats, cathartic melodies and blazing guitars. The banger release is an upbeat indie rock meets alt pop joy ride complete with Django James' sing-a-long induced chorus that is crazy infectious. The accompanying music video is shot in black and white shows seductive openly queer men and drag queens having a great time.
