New York based singer/songwriter ROREY has just unveiled her latest thrilling single. Called "Standby", the track is the first off of her forthcoming sophomore EP Dysphoria. The musician has garnered critical acclaim with her debut six song collection Apt 7d.

With "Standby", ROREY pens a song all about her autobiographical and personal struggle with bipolar. The first step in any recovery is realizing that one has to commit to the healing process and take accountability and self action to get better. "Standby" chronicles this experience. Lyrics including, "Keeping it together, but I’m dying on the inside/ Everybody’s living life, and I’m just on standby / I can’t keep ignoring, need a vacation / From the pain, I feel insane," show just how intense and darkly painful the disease can be. Sonically, "Standby" entices with atmospheric synths, driving acoustic guitars and ROREY's warm and inviting vocal hues. Melodic harmonies and lush backdrops complete this enveloping musical moment.

ROREY grew up in both New York and Los Angeles listening to classic rock including Santana, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull. As a young girl, she began playing both the guitar and piano, soon writing songs to deal with and express her feelings. Her upcoming EP is co-produced by Scott Effman and is made up of a collection of emotive and evocative songs that were mostly written in 2021, when the artist was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her important and haunting music is sure to touch souls all around the globe. Take a listen to "Standby" now and add the gem to your favorite playlist.
