Fierce pop-queen up-and-comer Ines Rae offers a soul searching lyrical account of her emotions inspired by real life events during the time of her father’s heart transplant on “Someone Else’s Heart,” taking listeners on her journey of vulnerability and fear.
With an atmospheric pop instrumentation built on rocky guitar chords, wandering drums, glittery synth arpeggios and lush vocals, the track makes way through themes of helplessness and grief.
Speaking of the track, Rae says, “It’s really special to me because this song is about one of the people I love most in the world – and how it felt to watch him go through something so monumental and almost unfathomable to most people. It’s also a summary of my own feelings at a very challenging time in my life – and while sometimes I think it’s a moment I’d rather not dwell on too much – as time heals sometimes the memory of it start to fade – having the song means I’ll always have my own musical time capsule I guess.”
Rapidly surfacing as an exciting new pop act in the UK, Rae has carved out a space for herself with each new release.
