Intriguing duo Hijack Stories have shared their conceptual album Chapter II, setting off on an experimental journey across 13 tracks. Settling on an overall futuristic aesthetic, utilising vast synthesised arrangements and blending them with the rawness of electric guitar and live drums, the project creates nostalgia and hope for the future all at once within its atmospheric blend of sonics.
With genre-hopping offerings that traverse intricate instrumentals that are stunning at times and gritty in others, the album brings sounds of past, present and future in a seamless amalgamation.
Hijack Stories shares the vision for the project, “We put this record together as an experiment. Two different artists from two different backgrounds, spent the best part of two years together (inside an Art Simulator), fusing our many different styles and influences into what is now our debut album Chapter II.”
Consisting of rapper Stackie McClean and producer Squid Jackalsen, the futuristic pair has us hypnotised by their AI origin story and their polished musicality.
