Derbyshire-born, Finland-based talent Jasper Sommer shares captivating visuals for recent single “We Could Rule The World,” from his new EP Memento.
With intricate sonics that showcase Sommer’s genre-bending style, the track with its unpredictable industrial percussion, dizzying breakbeats, pulsing ambient synths, tender piano outro and somber vocals is complimented to perfection by the cinematic music video.
Directed by Tildeath Network and shot in downtown LA, the video with its black-and-white style, captures the dark and moody feel of the track as it shows Sommer wandering about in vast, desolate city-scapes, singing passionately in the midst of a world of visible seclusion.
Speaking of the juxtaposition of the track and visuals, Sommer says, “The mood of the song seeks to find strength and triumph whilst contemplating loneliness, I love that Grant was able to bring that feeling to life visually with the use of locations & lighting.”
Exposed to array of sounds and influences from an early, Sommer whose journey into music began with forming a band aged 11 has continued to blossom and evolve, earning him a solid fanbase with each new release.
