SMPL TXT deliver rich new single "Aphrodite"

Northern alternative-rock quartet SMPL TXT have unveiled their latest single, "Aphrodite," a captivating blend of infectious melodies and melancholic undertones. Produced by Tim Malkin at Green Room Studios (known for Adult DVD and Japanese Television), the track is a testament to the band's distinctive fusion of heartfelt songwriting and rich, layered 70s-inspired soundscapes.

With strummed acoustic guitars, tremolo-tinted electrics, plucky bass, synth glitches, and shuffling drums, the instrumentation sets a whimsical tone beneath the yearning lead vocals. The melodic vocals, complemented by guest backing vocals from Natalie of The Flying Circus, create a catchy yet emotionally nuanced atmosphere.

Lead guitarist and songwriter, Jordan, shares the inspiration behind "Aphrodite," recounting a tale of unrequited love before lockdown. Despite the initial vision of a Disney-like confession, the reality added a layer of sadness, resonating with many who've experienced similar emotions.

Since their debut single in Summer 2022, SMPL TXT has rapidly gained momentum in the North West music scene, gracing beloved local venues and festivals across the UK. Having garnered a devoted fan base and filled iconic venues like Bootleg Social and The Jacaranda, the quartet is poised for a remarkable year, solidifying their status as a band to watch.
