Ohio native, Nashville-based musician Kerrigan Barry offers up a dose of early 2000s teenage nostalgia on “Phase,” rooted in her raw and honest approach to song writing.
With poetic lyrics that capture the idea of integrating nostalgia into our present lives. Speaking of the unapologetic message, she says, “If who you were back then in your formative years—the music you loved, the style you rocked, the icons you worshipped—still makes you smile, then why should you have to let that go? You shouldn’t.”
Looking back in her music yet moving forward as an artist, Barry describes the track as her first step into blossoming into the musician she has always seen herself as.
Having found catharsis and truth in writing lyrics and melodies after watching Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Live as a five-year-old, Barry’s lifelong love affair with music continues to evolve and expand with each new release.
